Americas Officials Assigned Big Matches This Weekend

Americas officials have been assigned big matches this coming weekend. Referees from Argentina are to be involved in both Super Rugby and the Vancouver 7’s tournament.

In Vancouver Damian Schneider of Argentina and Mike O’Brien of the USA are both to be involved. They are two of the nine referees assigned by World Rugby for the tournament.

In Super Rugby Argentina’s Federico Anselmi will take charge of the Sharks vs Sunwolves match. The round four fixture will be played in Kings Park in Durban. The appointment is the first of 2018 in Super Rugby for the Argentine.

Anselmi was an official in the Americas Rugby Championship (ARC). With that tournament having concluded this past weekend he is now back on refereeing duty in Super Rugby. South African officials Egon Seconds and Archie Sehlako are to be his assistants for the match with Marius Jonker appointed as the TMO.

In Buenos Aires Los Jaguares have a home match against the Waratahs. The referee for the match will be New Zealand’s Mike Fraser. This marks the first game of the season in which Los Jaguares have an official from a neutral country appointed as referee. Assisting Fraser will be fellow New Zealanders Nick Briant in addition to local Pablo Deluca. The TMO will be Santiago Borsani.
