Ramiro Moyano is set to remain out for Los Jaguares until March 24th. He was injured playing from the bench against the Lions in round two. He was subsequently ruled-out of facing the Hurricanes this past weekend yet has now had his recovery period extended much longer.
His return for Los Jaguares has now been set for March 24 against the Lions in Buenos Aires. This means he will miss out on playing against both the Waratahs and Reds over the coming two weekends.
Moyano was one of the best Jaguares from the 2017 Super Rugby season. He went on to play eight matches for Los Pumas, starting seven of them. It brought his total number of Pumas caps up to 20. He scored a hat-trick in the win over Georgia and also scored a try against South Africa and another against Ireland.
In addition to Moyano Los Jaguares are currently also without three additional backs – Tomás Cubelli, Matías Moroni and Jerónimo de la Fuente. Only de la Fuente is a possibility of returning to fitness this month.
With the Americas Rugby Championship (ARC) now completed Mario Ledesma may look to call-up a winger from the Argentina XV. The three-time capped German Schulz was a regular while Contepomi also utilized others. Of them Julian Domínguez and Juan Cruz Mallía loom as options as does mid-fielder Santiago Resino.
