Argentina is Ready for Las Vegas 7s

Argentina is ready for the upcoming Las Vegas 7’s tournament. Los Pumas 7’s Head Coach Santiago Gómez Cora has named a 13-man roster for the two upcoming World Sevens events in North America.

An injury forced change from Gómez Cora sees the return of Renzo Barbier from La Plata club San Luis. He comes in for the unavailable Fernando Luna.

Luna is the one and only change to the roster that competed in the two rounds played in 2018 thus far, the Sydney 7’s and Hamilton 7’s in Australia and New Zealand respectively. Argentina had a strong campaign in Sydney, finishing in third position. They then dropped off in Hamilton, failing to reach the Cup stage.

In the Las Vegas 7’s, Argentina will compete in Pool D. They are to do so against New Zealand, Scotland and Uruguay. It is a pool in which Los Pumas 7’s will feel capable of finishing in the top two.

The Uruguayan roster for the tournament can be seen by clicking here.

Argentina will open their campaign on Friday March 02 against Scotland, local time. Game two for the South Americans will be against New Zealand. On day two of the event, Los Pumas 7’s will be up against Uruguay in their remaining pool match.

Subsequent matches in the Las Vegas 7’s will depend on Argentina’s results from pool play.
