Imhoff Try Helps Racing 92 Climb To Second Spot

A Juan Imhoff try has helped Racing 92 climb into second spot in the Top 14. Playing at home in Paris earlier today, Racing 92 defeated La Rochelle 19-12. The result sees Racing 92 overtaking La Rochelle to now only trail Montpellier in the Top 14.

After 17 rounds of the season Racing 92 is well positioned to appear in the play-off’s. With 54 competition points, Racing 92 is two behind Montpellier and now four ahead of the third placed La Rochelle. A further five clubs are close together battling it out for fourth at present.

The top six teams make the play-off’s. There are nine remaining rounds in the regular season. The barrage round will be played on the weekend of May 18-19. The Semi Finals will follow one week later with the final taking place on June 02.

Should Imhoff make it to the final it would not be his first. Together with Manuel Carizza, Imhoff won the Top 14 Final two seasons ago. They did so at the first ever Top 14 Final staged outside of France.

Reaching the Top 14 Final again this season will require juggling as the club is also to compete in the Quarter Finals of the European Champions Cup. Imhoff made the final of that competition two seasons ago.
