The Aviva Premiership is back in full swing this weekend. In what is Week 15 of the English elite division’s season a number of Americas players are to feature. Below is a preview documenting those involved from the Western Hemisphere.
On Friday evening the Newcastle Falcons host Bath. They are to do so with Canadian international Evan Olmstead locking the scrum. He started for the North Americans in the Americas 2 RWC 2019 qualifiers against Uruguay. Starting for Bath will be Lucas Noguera Paz. The Argentine continues to get regular game time at Loose Head prop. As UAR selection policies stand he cannot add to his 43 caps while playing outside of Argentina.
Friday’s other fixture sees the Sale Sharks hosting Saracens. Starting for the home side will be Marland Yarde. From Castries, St. Lucia Yarde has 13 caps for England. Starting for Saracens will be three players from the Americas. Chris Wyles will play left wing, Marcelo Bosch outside center and Juan Figallo Tight Head prop. Both Argentine players fell victim to Argentina’s selection policy enforced following RWC 2015.
On Saturday another RWC 2015 Puma will take to the field. Mariano Galarza starts for Gloucester in the West Country derby against the Worcester Warriors. The following day one of Argentina’s genuine star performers from that tournament will play up in Coventry. Santiago Cordero starts on the wing for the Exeter Chiefs who are on the road against the Wasps.
