Playing at home on Saturday the Argentina XV downed Chile. The battle of the Andes saw the countries squaring-off at the bottom of the world in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego.
Both sides were looking to rebound from opening round losses in the ARC. Argentina XV Head Coach Felipe Contepomi made 13 changes to his side. This was based on a poor opening round performance against the USA.
Chile had a tough assignment. They were looking to improve after having lost at home to Brazil yet had the task of facing a side they have been badly beaten by in prior ARC outings. Matters were not helped with the loss of two starting backs during the week.
The opportunity that the ARC gives Chile is one which is very much cherished. The players and coaching staff were not looking to play defensively in hope of losing by the lowest total possible. Instead they went out to play rugby and had their moments despite being outplayed across the park.
