Underhill Named as Benchwarmer vs Wales

Sam Underhill has been named as a benchwarmer for England. The no 2 ranked team in the world play at home vs Wales in a Six Nations match on Saturday. The teams are both looking for their second wins after they were both victorious in the opening round, last weekend against Italy and Scotland respectively.

Born in Dayton, Ohio the 21-year-old Underhill grew-up in England. He went through the age-grade system, which included captaining England at junior levels. He qualifies for England via his English parents.

England Head Coach Eddie Jones has had Underhill as a mainstay on this roster since debuting. Underhill earned his first cap in June 2017 against Argentina in Santa Fé. His second test was also against Argentina. It came in the November Internationals with England winning an arm-wrestle in London. He also faced Australia in November while his most recent match was last weekend’s win over Italy.
