Two Chilean Backs Ruled out of ARC

Los Cóndores have been hit by an early set-back. Following their loss against Brazil on Saturday it has been confirmed that two Chilean backs have been ruled out of the remainder of the ARC.

Center and captain José Ignacio Larenas in addition to fly half Santiago Videla both suffered tournament ending injuries against Brazil. Both players are out of the ARC with fractures.

For his para the 20-year-old Videla suffered three fractured ribs. His recovery time has not yet been finalized.

The six-time capped Benjamín Pizarro Cristi was the replacement fly half against Brazil. Chile’s additional option within the roster is  the uncapped José Tomás Baraona. Lucca Avelli was Chile’s replacement center against the Brazilians.

Chile face the Argentina XV in Ushuaia on Saturday. No replacements have yet been announced. The second round match will see the battle of the Andes taking place at the world’s southern most city.
