Pools confirmed for Las Vegas Sevens

The USA will play in Pool C at the Las Vegas Sevens, one of four Americas teams that will participate in the fifth stop of the 2017-18 HSBC Sevens Series. A ninth-place finish as Challenge Trophy winners in Hamilton was consolation for the Eagles after a difficult opening day.

Two South American sides will be placed together in Pool D. Argentina fell victim to the USA in the Trophy final to finish 10th overall. They will compete against New Zealand, Scotland, and Uruguay. Los Teros qualified as the 16th team by edging Chile on the Sudamérica Sevens series held last month.

Canada rounds out the Americas contingent. They will enjoy some off-time to recuperate with numerous players suffering injuries over the Pacific leg. Unfortunately their return will see them in Pool B, arguably the toughest in Las Vegas with England, Wales, and defending circuit champions South Africa alongside.

Hamilton champions Fiji headline Pool A. They are paired with Kenya, France, and Russia.

The three-day tournament kicks off on Friday, March 2.
