Commenting on the matter, Sudamérica Rugby President Marcelo Rodríguez noted that:

“As soon as the Federación Boliviana de Rugby is able to be officially recognized we will can incorporate it into Sudamérica Rugby, initially as an Associate Member and subsequently, meeting the necessary requirements as a Full Member. For us it is major news as one of our proposals is to be present throughout all of the region.”

The President of the Federación Boliviana de Rugby (FBR) is Gonzalo Mansilla. He noted that Bolivia Rugby had the objective for this year of being able to officially compete in the Olympic activities of Sudamérica Rugby.

This year Bolivia will play host to the 11th South American Games. They are to take place in Cochabamba from May 26 to June 08. The FBR and Sudamérica Rugby have been working together to help prepare for the event in addition to enabling the incorporation of the union into the continental body.
