Uruguay produced one of their greatest ever performances as they defeated Canada in the first leg of the Americas 2 World Cup Qualifying series at BC Place on Saturday. The match also doubled as the opening round of the 2018 Americas Rugby Championship. Los Teros have now won back-to-back tests against Canada for the first time ever, and will look to make history in Montevideo this coming weekend.
Vancouver-based photographer Stewart G. Johnstone was there to capture the action. A selection of his pictures are below. More of Stewart’s work can be seen on his website.
Formally created in June 2015, this website's goal is to increase media exposure of the Tier 2 rugby nations, and create a hub with a focus on the stories of rugby in the Americas - North, Central and South.
