Argentina 3rd, USA 4th in Sydney 7’s

Argentina finished 3rd and the USA 4th in the Sydney 7’s. The teams finished in these positions after contesting the Bronze Final in Australia’s largest city. Argentina won the match 31-12 to seal a spot on the podium.

Los Pumas 7’s and the Eagles 7’s both had impressive campaigns.  Their match, though, followed both sides having been defeated in their respective Semi Finals. Argentina were well beaten by Australia and the USA similarly lost heavily against South Africa.

Australia went on to win the tournament with a 29-0 win over South Africa in the Final. 5th Place went to New Zealand and 6th to England. Canada recovered from disappointing performances on the previous days to finish 13th overall. They did so, though, following a lackluster start to Sunday as they lost against Samoa.

All three are to feature in the next leg of the World 7’s Circuit. It is to be played in Hamilton, New Zealand on February 03-04.
