British & Irish Cup – Round 6 Preview

It’s the final round of the pool stages in the British & Irish Cup this weekend. A half dozen Americas players will be in action on Saturday with spots in the Quarter Finals still up for grabs.

Canada’s only man in action this weekend will be Justin Blanchet who will man the flank for Bedford against Nottingham. Will Hooley wears the No10 shirt for the Blues who are already in pole position for the Quarter Finals but could secure home field advantage with another win.

A pair of Argentine backs are named in the Cornish Pirates lineup to play Hartpury. Nicolás de Battista starts in the midfield while Nicolás Coronel is named as a back reserve. The Pirates are on the outside looking in for a Quarter Final spot but can make a strong case with a bonus-point win.

London Scottish will head to Wales where the Dragons Select XV awaits in a game that will count for nothing in the final standings. Dino Waldren plays tighthead prop for the Exiles with his roommate Kyle Baillie already back in Canada to prepare for the World Cup Qualifiers.

Richmond are also out of the running and with Ealing Trailfinders already in the result at the Athletic Ground is academic. Ronnie McLean returns at inside center for the host side.
