Pro D2 – Week 20 Preview

Week 20 of the Pro D2 is underway. France’s fully-professional second division sees fixtures taking place this round on Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Taking to the field are a range of players from the America. The following is a preview of those involved.

Biarritz hosted Grenoble in the opening fixture of week 20. The Gonzalo Quesada coached side enjoyed a solid home performance, winning 37-14.

A vital Friday fixture sees Narbonne hosting Dax. Both sides are in serious danger of being relegated. Starting on the wing for the home side will be former Jaguar Segundo Tuculet. He is to be joined in the side by David Tameilau. The USA forward will feature from the bench. Dax are to have an Argentine and a Uruguayan starting. Martín Chiappesoni runs out at flanker and Felipe Berchesi at fly half.

Vannes take-on Carcassonne in a match putting together 8th vs 16th. It is a prime opportunity for a good win for for home side. Argentine Demian Panizzo will start the match in the second-row.

Former Pumas center Horacio San Martín starts for Nevers on Friday. The 12th placed side involved in a first season in the Pro D2 host league leaders Montauban.

Fellow former Fédérale 1 side Massy are at home to Bayonne. The visitors have named Chilean Pablo Huete to start in the second-row. Former Puma Juan Pablo Orlandi has been named as a replacement prop.

Sunday’s one fixture in week 20 sees Mont de Marsan playing host to Colomiers. Line-ups for this fixture are due to be announced on Saturday. Americas players are expected to be involved.
