Brazilian test fly half Josh Reeves has joined Band Saracens. The club made the announcement that the New Zealander is returning to the club following two seasons playing for Jacareí, where he helped win the national title.
At Bandeirantes Saracens Reeves is to be involved with the team both on and off the field. He takes over from Guilherme Marques as coach, doing so while being a player for the club. He is to join fellow Brazilian test players Gabriel Paganini, Laurent Borda-Couhet, Will Broderick and Jonatas dos Santos Paulo at the club.
The 29-year-old Reeves has been Brazil’s starting fly half over the past two years. He is inline to appear in a third Americas Rugby Championship and to add further caps to his name. So far he has been capped 13 times by Os Tupis.
Band Saracens is to play in the 2018 Paulista A. The opening round fixture will be on February 24 against São Paulo rivals, SPAC.
Founded in 1983, São Paulo Saracens Bandeirantes is one of Brazil’s most notable rugby clubs. The club has won four national titles and produced many players for the Brazilian test side and also for the Olympic Games.
