Tennessee’s Seymour Set for Another Six Nations Campaign

Tennessee flier Tommy Seymour is set for another Six Nations Campaign. The 29-year-old from Nashville was first selected for Scotland for the 2012 November Internationals. He nonetheless played for Ireland at u19 level in 2007.

Having departed the USA aged 9, his family moved to Dubai before relocating to Northern Ireland. He qualifies to play for Scotland through his mother who is from Glasgow.

Scotland Head Coach Gregor Townsend named Seymour in his 40-man roster for the upcoming Six Nations Championship.

Veteran flanker John Barclay retaining the captaincy despite the inclusion of Greig Laidlaw. The Clermont scrum-half last played for Scotland in February 2017. He was unfit for the June and November Internationals.

In addition to Laidlaw there are also returns for second-rower Richie Gray, centres Mark Bennett and Duncan Taylor, and no 8 David Denton.

Young blood named by Townsend for the Six Nations include Edinburgh players Blair Kinghorn, Nathan Fowles and Murray McCallum in addition to Glasgow Warriors’ prop D’arcy Rae.
