Super Rugby Warm-Up To No Longer be Played in Los Angeles

The Super Rugby warm-up match between the Bulls and Stormers will no longer be played in Los Angeles. The official website of the Bulls reports that it has been cancelled due to issues regarding the agreed upon transfers and logistics.

The statement noted that:

“Player welfare and the management thereof are extremely important to the Bulls as well as the Stormers, and will not be compromised on in this regard.”

The match is to go ahead but not in the USA. Instead it is now to take place in Wellington, South Africa. It will do so on February 03 at Boland Stadium.

The fixture had been announced by USA Rugby in November. The Bulls vs Stormers clash was to be played at the StubHub Center, also on February 03. It was to be part of a double-header dubbed ‘International Rugby Saturday’. The other half was to be the Americas Rugby Championship match between the USA Eagles and the Argentina XV.

With the South African teams pulling-out of playing in Los Angeles the Americas Rugby Championship fixture is to now be the one and only match at the StubHub Center on February 03.
