Valladolid has added further to its Argentine contingent. The 2017 División de Honor Champions have acquired former Hindú Club player Sasha Casañas.
The second-rower is a one-time capped Puma. He played for Argentina against Chile in 2016. Additional game time has seen him featuring for the Argentina XV. In June 2016 he played in the Nationas Cup in Romania.
Having won the URBA Top 12 and Nacional de Clubes with Hindú he is to now continue his career in Spain. With Hindú he was an URBA champion in 2014, 2015 and 2017. He won the Torneo Nacional de CLubes in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
Casañas is to join fellow Argentine players José Basso, Tomás Carrió, Alejandro Gutiérrez, Diego Álvarez Gorosito y Federico Castiglioni, and will be coached by Mario Barandiaran.
Known for his solid tackling, line-out work and ball-carrying abilities, Casañas arrives at a time in which the club has been hurt from the loss of second-rowers to injury.
