Top 14 – Week 15 Preview

The French Top 14 roars into its 15th week with five matches on Saturday and two more on Sunday. From an Americas point of view it’s about average, perhaps slightly underwhelming with seven representatives suiting up, eight if you count Agen’s US-eligible prop Dave Ryan.

Joining Ryan as a front row reserve for Agen is Argentine hooker Facundo Bosch, who could be eligible for the Pumas again soon pending the results of the UAR meeting in March. Traveling to Stade Armandie is Castres who are captained by Uruguayan second row Rodrigo Capó Ortega and directed by Argentine flyhalf Benjamín Urdapilleta.

Oyonnax will start Axel Müller on the left wing against La Rochelle. Facundo Isa is the only Americas player for Toulon this week, he’s on the flank for the trip to Brive.

Montpellier are looking to take the top spot with a home game against Stade Français. The pink-wearing Parisians will count Ramiro Herrera among their front row replacements.

Sunday’s games see Pau welcome Toulouse to the Stade du Hameau, and Racing 92 hosting Clermont Auvergne. Teams are still to be named for both. Manuel Carizza can be expected to play a role for Racing.
