Fixtures confirmed for Punta del Este 7s

Fixtures for the first leg of the Sudamérica Sevens to take place in Punta del Este have been confirmed. The two-leg series will conclude in Viña del Mar next weekend with the top two teams from Chile, Paraguay, Colombia, Brazil, and Uruguay qualifying for the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens that takes place in San Francisco beginning July 20.

Development teams from Argentina, Canada (Maple Leafs), and the USA (Falcons) will also take part with their senior sides already qualified for the World Cup. Invitational teams include Germany, South Africa, Ireland, and France.

Pool A is comprised of Chile, Paraguay, Germany, and South Africa. Pool B sees Argentina, Canada, and Colombia paired with Ireland. Pool C features hosts Uruguay along with Brazil, France, and the USA.

The tournament takes place at the Estadio Domingo Burgueño in Maldonado.
