The fourth round of the British & Irish Cup coincides with the bigger European competitions with the Greene King IPA Championship sides facing either Guinness Pro 14 reserve teams or shuffled versions of their regular Championship rivals. It’s a quiet week as far as the Americas are concerned with only seven players enlisted across four different games.
A pair of Canadians will suit up on Saturday. Kyle Baillie gets a run on the blindside flank for London Scottish when they host Jersey at the Athletic Ground. His international teammate Djustice Sears-Duru is once again asked to play an impact role from the bench for Ealing when Rotherham Titans ride into town.
On Sunday a pair of little-used players will get some game time for Richmond. Argentine-born flanker Adam Lee is retained on the flank and former Canada u20 representative Richard Townsend is named as a reserve hooker for the match in Ireland against Connacht Eagles.
Cornish Pirates are again asked to play on Sunday. Argentina’s Nicolás de Battista starts in the midfield with two Canadians also in the run-on side for the match against Scarlets Selects. Brett Beukeboom is named at lock and Matt Evans continues his comeback from injury on the wing.
