Three Americas players in Cape Town Dream Team

After sending two teams to the Semi Finals the Americas have been rewarded with three selections to the official HSBC Dream Team for the Cape Town Sevens. Canadian duo Mike Fuailefau and Justin Douglas are named along with Argentina’s Rodrigo Etchart.

Fuailefau scored a try in the opener against Samoa but started the Fiji game on the reserves. After replacing the injured Phil Berna early he never looked back, finding the try-line against Wales and France and providing excellent support play for Canada’s strike runners.

One of those was Justin Douglas, who notched four tries all told and attracted attention with every touch. He also impressed once again with his strong defensive presence.

Etchart gave the Pumas two line breaking speedsters in the middle along with halfback Lautaro Bazán. Etchart notched three tries himself, including a fine solo effort in the second half against Canada that put Argentina into the Cup Final.

The other forwards named were South African captain Philip Snyman and New Zealand’s iron man Tim Mikkelson. Gifted youngster Vilimoni Koroi made it two selections for the tournament champions, with Fiji’s Amenoni Nasilasila getting the nod over an unlucky Nathan Hirayama at the playmaker position.
