Hassler stars in Ospreys win over Northampton

Jeff Hassler played a starring role as Ospreys took a handsome 43-32 result away from Northampton Saints in Champions Cup action on Saturday. Saints conceded six tries at Franklin’s Gardens, with the Canadian winger scoring two himself and creating another with a long breakout from his own half.

The tries made up for an early yellow card to Hassler, who had to thank his team for holding out while he served 10 minutes in the bin. After struggling with a concussion that kept him out of action for a month the 26-year-old looks back to his best.

Canadian fans are desperate to see him wearing a Maple Leaf again in the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Uruguay. Hassler hasn’t played an international since the 2015 World Cup, with a string of injuries keeping him from adding to his 17 test caps.
