Capital Selects name squad to play NOLA Gold

Fresh off their 52-28 victory over the USA South Panthers a week ago, the Capital Selects have named a 23-man touring squad for their match against the New Orleans Gold of Major League Rugby on January 20. Ten different clubs from the mid-Atlantic region are represented.

It’s the first of three games in succession for the invitational team from the Capital Rugby Union, with a date against Stars Rugby set for January 27 and another MLR side, the Houston SaberCats, on February 3.

Among the notable selections up front are former Eagles Sevens triallist Tyler Barberi and powerful Tongan loose forward Vili Siale. The backs feature strike runners CJ Burnes, a standout midfielder at West Virginia, and flying Kutztown wing D’Montae Noble, also part of the Atlantis sevens side.
