Buenos Aires Crowned 2017 Campeonato Argentino Champions

Buenos Aires are the 2017 Argentine national provincial champions. In being crowned the 2017 Campeonato Argentino winners the province retained their national title, extending their supremacy to three years.

Buenos Aires sealed the title with a 25-20 win over Cuyo earlier today. They did so after overcoming a 10-0 deficit. Ultimately Buenos Aires would strike back but not until the second half. The Mendozans would hold on to the lead at the break, doing so by 17-12.

The lead went the way of Buenos Aires thanks to a try from Argentina XV hooker Axel Zapata. He was one of a number of leading domestic non-Jaguares players involved for the national provincial champions.

Francisco Ferronato, second-rower Jerónimo Ureta, winger Tomás Malanos and fullback Pedro Mercerat all joined Zapata in the starting line-up.
