Top 14 – Week 12 Preview

Week 12 of the Top 14 takes place this weekend in France. A full round of seven matches will see interesting battles occurring. Involved are to be a host of players from the Americas.

A number of this weekend’s fixtures as to be derbies. This is true of Toulouse vs Castres. Taking to the field for the visitors will be Benjamín Urdapilleta. The former Pumas fly half has been in fine form for Castres all season.

Brive host Oyonnax in the battle of the bottom of the Top 14. In looking to return home with competition points Oyonnax have named a strong line-up. This includes Axel Muller. The 2016 Argentine Olympian will start on the left wing.

Former England international Steffon Armitage is to start in the back-row for Pau. His side has home advantage against Bordeaux. His brother, Delon Armitage starts on the left wing for Lyon who face Toulon on the road. The Armitages were born in Trinidad & Tobago.

Also playing in the Toulon vs Lyon match will be two players to have played in Rugby World Cups for countries from the Americas. Juan Martín Fernández Lobbe starts at flanker for Toulon while Samu Manoa will play in the second-row. Featuring as a replacement this week is Facundo Isa.

The two remaining matches are to be Sunday games. Clermont and Agen are to have home advantage against Stade Français and Racing 92 respectively. Line-ups for these matches are to be announced on Saturday afternoon.
