Uruguay traveled to Windhoek for the first time in their history to play Namibia in the first of two tests at Hage Geingob Stadium on Saturday. The high-scoring affair saw both sides scoring multiple tries in exhausting back-and-forth action that required water breaks in the heat that topped 30°C.
Los Teros sent an experienced side led by captain Juan Manuel Gaminara to prepare for their World Cup Qualifying series against Canada in January. The Welwitschias are heading towards qualifiers of their own but with numerous top players unavailable they featured a mix of newcomers and veterans with one new cap in replacement prop Nelius Theron.
