Hernández In Doubt to Face Ireland

Juan Martín Hernández is in doubt of facing Ireland. The veteran fly half suffered a sprain in the inner ligament of his right knee in Saturday’s win over Italy.

Hernández had been on the bench for the match but got game time early. He kicked the opening points of the match.

In his absence Daniel Hourcade has options at both fly half and inside center. Having started against England he was replaced with Nicolás Sánchez being the starting fly half against the Italians.

In the last match between Argentina and Ireland Sánchez played fly half and Hernández inside center. The fixture was a Rugby World Cup Quarter Final in Cardiff, Wales. Since then Hourcade has opted for alternatives in the position.

Jerónimo de la Fuente was the starting option from June-October. He has since been unavailable with Santiago González Iglesias slotting in to play inside center. de la Fuente is now fit-again and expected to be involved against Ireland.
