The US Eagles took on Germany for the first time in a test match at the Brita Arena in Wiesbaden on Saturday. It was the first of two November internationals for the USA while Germany were coming off a dominant win over Brazil.
Featuring for the USA were Aviva Premiership stars AJ MacGinty and Joe Taufete’e while Cardiff Blues winger Blaine Scully captained. Reserve prop Huluholo Mo’ungaloa made his test debut late in the game. Germany handed first caps to New Zealand-born fullback Hagen Schulte and former Ealing lock Adam Preocanin, a second half replacement.
