England revise squad to play Canada

England coach Simon Middleton has called up three players to his training group ahead of Friday’s match against Canada at Allianz Park. It will be the first of three tests between the two over a span of eight days, the last set to be played at Twickenham.

Two senior forwards have had to withdraw from the original squad. Sarah Bern has damaged a foot while Harriet Millar-Mills is ruled out with a long-term knee injury. Justine Lucas and Izzy Noel-Smith will join the squad later in the week but will not play in the first test.

Three uncapped players have been added. England u20 prop Hannah Botterman replaces Bern, while Loughborough loose forward Catherine O’Donnell and flanker Shaunagh Brown, who has an accomplished athletics background, join the squad for the first time.

Friday’s match is set to kick off at 7:30pm local time, 2:30pm Eastern. A live stream will be available on the England Rugby website.
