Santiago Socino Scores Text Book Hooker’s Try

Santiago Socino scored a text book hooker’s try this past weekend. He did so for the Newcastle Falcons who played away against the Wasps in Coventry. The Falcons won the high-scoring match 53-41.

The younger brother of center, Juan Pablo Socini, Santiago Socino made the move from the ‘A’ side to the Aviva Premiership team this season. He has proven to not only be up to the task but also to be among the top hookers in the competition.

It comes following a significant change – from flanker to hooker. Like Mario Ledesma and Agustín Creevy he has converted to a front-rower in his 20’s. It has proven to be so successful that a place in Los Pumas is entirely plausible.

Yet to be capped, Santiago Socino would arguably be in the team at present if available. UAR policies block players based in Europe from being considered for international duty.
