Pro D2 – Week 11 Preview

Week 11 of the Pro D2 is underway. France’s second division sees matches spread from Thursday through Sunday this weekend. With the November Internationals just around the corner the involvement of Americas players is reduced this weekend.

Montauban hosted Bayonne in the opening fixture last night. In what was a tight match the home side finished off as 25-20 winners. Rugby World Cup 2015 Puma, Juan Pablo Orlandí featured as a replacement for Bayonne.

Vannes are at home this evening against Dax. The visitors have named Martín Chiappesoni in the staring line-up. The 2013 Puma will run-out at flanker.

Involved for Mont de Marsan will be Carlos Muzzio. The 33-year-old played for the Argentina XV in the 2016 Nations Cup in Romania. Joining him in the team was Santiago Iglesias Valdez. The hooker will play against Muzzio for Béziers from the bench.

Two former Pumas will play in Aurrliac today. They are to do so for the visiting team, Nevers. Starting in the second-row will be Tomás Vallejos Cinalli. The in-form center, Horacio San Martín has been named as a replacement.

Flying the flag for the USA this weekend will be David Tameilau. The Californian starts for Narbonne who have home advantage against Massy. Tameilau will play this month for the USA. He is on the roster for the matches against Germany and Georgia.

Biarritz host Colomiers in Friday’s remaining fixture. The Gonzalo Quesada coached side has named Leandro Mario Assi on the bench. Fellow Argentine Sebastián Poet starts for Colomiers.

Closing week 11 will be Charante vs Perpignan. Line-ups for the Sunday match will be named on Saturday afternoon.
