Blaine Scully re-signs with Cardiff Blues

Blaine Scully has re-signed with the Cardiff Blues. The US Eagles star has inked a new ‘long-term’ contract that will see him stick with Guinness Pro 14 club for the foreseeable future. While the specific length of the deal has not been revealed, Scully is now certain to stay with the club until at least 2020. His current deal was set to expire at the end of the current season in June 2018.

The 29-year-old outside back has become a regular in the Blues lineup since moving from Leicester Tigers ahead of the 2015-16 season. Scully has now made 35 Blues appearances and is part of the senior leadership group at the club, captaining for the first time in March of this year.

Scully is also a senior player with the Eagles with 34 caps to his name since his debut in Jun 2011. He assumed a co-captaincy role with Todd Clever in 2016 and is favorite to assume the captaincy for the upcoming November internationals.
