England Roster Confirmed to Face Argentina

England has confirmed a 34-man roster to face Argentina. The team’s meet in London in what is to be the first of three November Internationals for Los Pumas.

Head Coach Eddie Jones is targeting a 4-0 showing over the South Americans. By this he means completing four wins from as many matches in the calendar year. England won against Argentina last November in London and downed Los Pumas in San Juan and Santa Fé this past June.

The upcoming fixture will take place at Twickenham Stadium on November 11. Prior to the match England are to prepare in Portugal. The match will be followed by two additional home matches with both Samoa and Australia also playing at Twickenham.

Argentina is currently preparing in Buenos Aires. The roster for the tour to England, Italy and Ireland can be seen here.

Free to play is captain Dylan Hartley. He had been in doubt after having been cited playing for the Northampton Saints against Clermont this past weekend. Also cleared is Nathan Hughes. The former Fijian u21 was a star-performer earlier this year and, like Hartley, has avoided suspension following citing in Europe.

Out of the match is Harlequins prop Joe Marler. He picked up a three week suspension for foul play against the Wasps on Sunday.

Jones had shown continued investment in the future by selecting uncapped players. Called-up are Zach Mercer, Sam Simmonds and Marcus Smith. The trio are aged 20, 22 and 18.
