Rose LaBrèche named to Commonwealth Games panel

Rose LaBrèche can add another accolade to her already impressive resume. The Canadian referee has been named to the senior panel for the 2018 Commonwealth Games to take place at the Gold Coast, Australia, in April. LaBrèche, 29, is the only Americas referee named among the 11 set to take charge of the 2017-18 HSBC Women’s Sevens Series and one of only five named for the Commonwealth Games.

A winner of two consecutive Rugby Canada Referee of the Year awards, the Ottawa, Ontario, resident made her international sevens debut on the 2014-15 Series and has been a regular ever since. LaBrèche was also selected to officiate at the 2016 Olympic Games and the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup along with numerous international test appointments.

She will miss out on the first two stops of the 2017-18 circuit but LaBrèche will be part of the tournaments in Japan, Canada, and France.
