A spectacular performance from Felipe Berchesi saw Dax to victory over Colomiers on Friday. The Uruguayan fly half kicked 20 points for Dax who won 30-25 against the former French powerhouses.
The Montevideo play-maker kicked six penalties and converted one try, a record of 7 goals from 8 attempts. It represented 66.6% of Dax’s scoring. It was the best showing from the Teros no 10 since his arrival at the club this season.
Berchesi joined Dax this season after playing the prior two for Carcassonne, also in the Pro D2. Prior to that he played one season for Chambéry. Before playing in France, however, his professional career began in Italy. There he played for Badia.
With 24 caps to his name, Berchesi is a vital component to Los Teros. Uruguay will be seeking him to convert his club form in France to Los Teros next month. Uruguay are to tour Namibia playing two test matches in Windhoek. Should Berchesi score 8 points he will pass the 200 point mark at international level.
