Brarda Out of Americas Pacific Challenge

Franco Brarda is out of the Americas Pacific Challenge. The Argentina XV loosehead prop suffered an injury to his cervical nerves playing against Samoa on Wednesday. The Córdoba prop has been cleared of any spinal cord damage but remains in hospital in Montevideo, Uruguay.

The injury saw Brarda leaving the field early against Samoa. The Argentina XV played their best rugby of the year, hammering the Pacific Islanders 85-14.

The medical report is favorable with Brarda expected to make a complete recovery. He will, nonetheless, require a lengthy recovery period. In place of Brarda, Felipe Contepomi is likely to field Felipe Arregui against Uruguay ‘A’ on Sunday.

Arregui started in the win over Canada ‘A’ in the opening round. Also in the squad is Roberto Tejerizo, another player with experience playing for Los Jaguares.
