Round 6 of the Celtic-Italian-South African League takes place this weekend. Four fixtures will be played on Friday and the remaining three on Saturday. Involved are to be a sprinkling of players from the Americas.
Opening the round will be a match in the Scottish capital. Looking to continue their impressive form, Zebre enter the match with a strongly enhanced reputation. Two Argentine players are among the replacements. Eduardo Bello coverd prop while Serafin Bordoli is Zebre’s reserve fly half.
An Eastern Wales derby sees the Cardiff Blues hosting the Dragons. Missing are to be USA players Blaine Scully and Thretton Palamo. The former captained the Blues last week while the later is now sidelined with injury.
Involved in Bloemfontein will be Tennessee’s Tommy Seymour. The Scotland-capped flier starts on the right wing for Glasgow against the Cheetahs.
The second of the two Welsh derbies takes place on Saturday. The Ospreys have home advantage against the Scarlets in the battle of West Wales. Starting on the left wing for the home side will be Jeff Hassler. His return to fitness is welcome news for Canada ahead of the November Internationals.
In Italy Benetton Treviso take on the Southern Kings. The Italians do so with Juan Ignacio Brex starting in the mid-field. The Canadian-Italian Robert Barbieri will cover the back-row from the bench.
