Canada’s Senior Women won’t have to wait long to return to action following their 5th-place finish at the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup. The team will undertake a three-match tour of England in November with all three games against their hosts and World Cup finalists.
It’s a change in routine for the Women’s side, who had to wait 10 months before playing another test match following the 2014 World Cup. While this will represent the beginning of a new World Cup cycle, the tour’s proximity to August’s event could mean the squad stays largely intact. A new head coach will be required following François Ratier’s change of focus to the Men’s Program, with current assistant coach Shaun Allen considered a strong candidate.
The matches are set to take place in high profile facilities with the first at Allianz Park, home of the Saracens, the second at Harlequins home base The Stoop. The third will take place across the street at England’s Twickenham national stadium, to be played immediately following the England vs Samoa men’s test on November 25.
All matches will be broadcast live with details to follow.
