Americas quartet named in Newcastle ‘A’ lineup

Four Americas players have been named in the Newcastle lineup for their Aviva ‘A’ League fixture against Sale Jets at Kingston Park on Monday evening. With the Falcons riding on a high they have named a powerful development squad with a number in hot pursuit of a spot in the senior side.

Canadian international pair Jake Ilnicki and Evan Olmstead slot into an impressive tight five that also features Fijian World Cup lock Tevita Cavubati. US Eagles second row Nick Civetta is forced to settle for a spot among the reserves. Argentine utility back Belisario Agulla starts at outside center, with Samoan firecracker Sinoti Sinoti on the left wing.

Other notables in the Newcastle lineup include former Australia u20 rep Harrison Orr on the blindside, England age-grade speedster Zach Kibirige on the right wing, and England 7s cap Cameron Cowell at fullback. Portuguese international prop Diogo Ferreira is on the bench as is Scotland u20 lock Glen Young.

Sale have named a team captained by former England 7s and Saxons standout David Seymour, with national u20 lock George Nott a key figure up front. Former Leicester strongman Laurence Pearce is at No 8 while highly rated Cameron Redpath, son of former Scotland scrumhalf Bryan Redpath, will steer a youthful backline from the flyhalf position.

Kickoff is at 7pm local time (2pm ET).
