RFU Championship – Round 4 Preview

Six games will adorn the weekend in Round 4 of the Greene King IPA Championship, four on Saturday and two on Sunday. Americas players will have a say in five of them.

Aaron Carpenter continues his streak at No 8 for Doncaster Knights when they host Nottingham at Castle Park on Saturday. Richmond will have Ronnie McLean at inside center against the visiting Jersey Reds.

Justin Blanchet makes his full return from injury to start at openside flank for Bedford Blues in a heavyweight battle against Bristol. Gastón Cortes is fit again but will not play in that match, instead he will start at tighthead prop for Bristol United against London Irish in Friday evening’s Aviva ‘A’ League fixture.

Sunday sees Nicolás de Battista leading out Cornish Pirates against Rotherham Titans at the Mennaye. At Ealing there will be three Americas players in action with Andrew Durutalo starting at openside for the home side and Kyle Baillie in the engine room for London Scottish. Dino Waldren should make his Championship debut after again being named among the reserves. He did not see the field in last week’s game against Nottingham.
