Aviva Premiership – Round 3 Preview

Americas participants are few and far between this week in the third round of the Aviva Premiership. Several, in fact, are stateside for the big match in Philadelphia but only four will play in that match, with another three slated elsewhere and one on Aviva ‘A’ League duty.

USA fans will have two players to watch for on Friday afternoon. Joe Taufete’e is the reserve hooker for Worcester when they host Exeter at Sixways, and Sale Sharks will start AJ MacGinty at flyhalf against London Irish. Bath travel to Northampton but Eagles prop Paddy Ryan won’t make the trip, he’s instead continuing his trial with the Bath United in an ‘A’ league derby against Bristol United on Saturday.

The only Americas players in action on Saturday will be at Talen Energy Stadium. Despite having several on the roster Newcastle have named only two in the lineup, both on the bench in hooker Santiago Socino and midfield brother Juan Pablo Socino. Saracens have at least handed starts to Argentine duo Juan Figallo and Marcelo Bosch.

Sunday’s only match has Wasps hosting Harlequins in Coventry at the Ricoh Arena. The visitors have St. Lucia native Marland Yarde on the right wing.
