Eagles seek World Cup Bronze against France

One more shot at glory remains for the USA when they face France in the Bronze Final of the Women’s Rugby World Cup on Saturday. Belfast’s Kingspan Stadium will be the venue as the match acts as a prelude for the World Cup Final between New Zealand and England.

Injuries have forced coach Pete Steinberg’s hands in what will be his last game in charge of the Eagles. Catie Benson, Kate Zackary, and Kimber Rozier will miss out with Hope Rogers, Abby Gustaitis, and Kayla Canett their respective replacements. Canett will start in her preferred flyhalf role after serving as a reserve scrumhalf in previous matches.

The bench also sees some different names with props Jamila Reinhardt and Naima Reddick added. Nicole James remains present but looks set to provide emergency second row cover if required. Christiane Pheil could make her first appearance of the tourney as a replacement and Jessica Javelet covers the wings.

Kickoff is set for 5pm local time, noon Eastern. The match will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Gold with a live stream provided by World Rugby for those based outside the USA.
