This weekend there was one capped get match involving teams from the Americas. That fixture was the Rugby Championship opening round match in Port Elizabeth. The Springboks’ home win sees Argentina falling from 9th to 10th in the World Rankings. This means that Fiji, a team outside of the Rugby Championship, is now above Los Pumas. Argentina’s ranking has fallen from 79.50 to 79.2o. Fiji has 79.48 points.
In the Americas Rankings Argentina remains in top spot. The updated rankings see the fall slightly reducing the gap between Argentina and the USA. Uruguay, Canada and Chile complete the top five in the Americas Rankings.
Additional changes are possible best weekend. Argentina will have home advantage against South Africa in Salta. A win of any kind will be sufficient o move back above Fiji. Furthermore France would also slip behind Argentina. As such the South Americans could move into 8th spot.
