Strikers sign Olympic Champion Kolinisau

An Olympic Gold Medal winner is heading to Houston. The Strikers have announced the capture of Fijian sevens captain Osea Kolinisau. With two HSBC Sevens Series titles and more than 1000 career points scored, the 31-year-old is one of his country’s most decorated players of all time.

Previously seen as an outside back before his international career flourished, Kolinisau’s versatility allows him to cover across the backline with the midfield his most likely destination at Houston. Elusive and creative, his vision and footballing skills mark him as a multi-level attacking threat. With his vast experience Kolinisau should adapt quickly in his return to the XV-a-side game after several years playing sevens exclusively.

The Fijian ace is the latest to sign on the dotted line for the Strikers ahead of the 2018 Major League Rugby season, following recent acquisitions Pago Haini and Zach Pangelinan. A detailed current roster list can be seen here.
