Pérez Confirms His Departure

On the back of Friday’s win over the Melbourne Rebels, Los Jaguares’ Head Coach has confirmed his departure. Raúl Pérez made it clear to media that he has coached the team for the final time.

An emotional Pérez commented: “this phase is now over and the reality is that it has been treated as a farewell. He added that “I have seen many of these players grow”.

Pérez coached Los Jaguares in the 2016 and 2017 season. The team underperformed on both occasions, failing to reach the knock-out stages. In defeating the Rebels the South Americans finished with seven wins from fifteen matches.

The team will be back again in 2018. A new Head Coach will be in charge. No appointment has yet been made though the UAR had been interested in Mario Ledesma. The former Pumas hooker, though, is remaining in Australia. Also out of the picture is Gonzalo Quesada who coaches in France.
