Joel Sclavi will be playing for Charente next season. The Argentine tighthead prop joins the Pro D2 side from the Pau espoirs, an academy side for the Pau Top 14 team.
Aged 23, Sclavi is a big player. His weight is estimated at being between 135kg and 144kg. His move to Charente follows a debut season as a professional in 2016-2017. He played two Top 14 matches and two Challenge Cup fixtures for Pau.
Sclavi is the second Argentine recruit in recent months. Back in May Lucas Caneda signed from Aix-en-Provence for the upcoming season.
Also at the club is Córdoba’s Facundo Panceyra Garrido. He had a tremendous season in 2016-2017 playing predominantly on the right wing. Sebastián Poet was also at the club, playing fly half. He has moved to rivals Colomiers for the upcoming season.
