A possible return to France looms for Ramiro Herrera. The 28-year-old has been targeted by French club Stade Français. The club has recruited heavily for the upcoming season and is continuing to strengthen its roster.
The club has lost leading Tight Head Rabah Slimani to Clermont. In looking to obtain a world class replacement Stade Français has reportedly made Ramiro Herrera an attractive offer. In the event that Herrera were to sign he would no long be eligible to play for Argentina.
Aged 28, Herrera has been a mainstay in Los Pumas under Daniel Hourcade. He was the starting Tight Head prop at Rugby World Cup 2015 and held down the position throughout 2016. In the recent tests in San Juan and Santa Fé against England Herrera featured from the bench with Enrique Pieretto starting.
Herrera previously played in France for Castres. His two-year stint included him starting in the 2014 Top 14 Final against Toulon. The Comodoro Rivadavia native left to join Los Jaguares. He is into his second season with the Argentine Super Rugby franchise.
