Saturday was to see two Rugby Americas North international matches played. One of them, however, has been cancelled. The USA South Panthers’ home fixture against Bermuda has officially been called-off.
Rugby Americas North has awarded a victory by WO to the USA South Panthers. This also sees the Panthers allocated 4 championship points.
Both the USA South Panthers and Bermuda lost to Mexico in prior fixtures. Bermuda also fell to the Cayman Islands, a side which the Panthers defeated.
Despite the cancellation there is still plenty of international rugby in the Americas to look forward to. On Saturday the Cayman Islands play host to Mexico. It is a Rugby Americas North Senior Men’s Championship Zone fixture.
Also in North America both Canada and the USA will play test matches. Taking place on Saturday Canada host Romania and the USA take-on Georgia. Both North American countries enter ranked lower than their visiting opponents. Wins will thereby boost their rankings.
In South America Argentina play host to England on Saturday. It is the second match of the two-match series. The Argentina XV, meanwhile, will play on Sunday, doing so in the World Rugby Nations Cup. That fixture will be against Emerging Italy in Montevideo.
Lastly, at home will be Los Teros. Uruguay will take-on Spain on Sunday at the home of the URU, the Estadio Charrúa. A win is vital for World Rankings placement. It is also of great importance with an eye to additional Rugby World Cup qualifiers.
