Americas Rankings – June 14 2017

Test match rugby today saw changes in the Americas Rankings. Uruguay’s come-from-behind win over Russia has seen Los Teros gaining ground in the rankings.

In the Americas Uruguay remains 3rd. The win gives Uruguay a 0.79 point increase in the rankings. This sees Uruguay widening the cap between itself and Canada and also edging closer to the USA.

In the World Rankings the result means Uruguay has risen up from 21st to 19th in the world. This sees Uruguay ranked higher than both Namibia and Russia. Spain is now what separates Uruguay from the USA’s 17th placed spot.

Also playing today from the Americas was the Argentina XV. With the team not being Argentina’s test side no rankings points were on the line. The Argentina XV will play again on Sunday, taking-on Emerging Italy to end their Nations Cup campaign.

On Saturday Canada play host to Romania and the USA take-on Georgia. In the Rugby Americas Championship the Cayman Islands hosts Mexico while in South America Argentina take-on England in Santa Fé and Uruguay face Spain in the Nations Cup.
